I'm getting engaged, but she wants a white topaz ring. Should i get it?
It only costs £40, and i would like to spend more on her. She deserves it.
The important thing isn't how much it costs, but how well you understand and listen to her. If she wants the inexpensive white topaz, get it for her. Spending more on something she doesn't like won't make her happier.
For instance, I know my beloved would have happily gotten me a diamond if I'd wanted one. In fact, when I showed him the sterling silver frog ring I wanted, he was very confused at first.
